We’re excited to have Kurtis Brooks joining our team as a contributing author. He’s a serious angler and I look forward to reading all of his posts and stories. Here’s a little bit about Kurtis in his own words:

“I have been fly fishing for over 25 years now and I love it! I’m 33 now and don’t plan on slowing down. I’ve fished with my fly rod in hand, in almost every western state in the lower 48 and into BC as well. I was lucky enough to have parents growing up, who believed in fly fishing. And a father that insisted that an understanding of local entomology would prove a successful fly fisherman.
I live just outside Boise, Idaho. It’s hard to imagine living anywhere else that would serve as a better hub to fantastic fly fishing. A short drive will put me on Blue Ribbon trout streams and rivers and others that defiantly should be! I have a beautiful wife and daughter that enjoy getting out as much as I do. I really enjoy sharing my passion of fly fishing with them and, passing the torch to future generations.”

Welcome aboard Kurtis! Soft water can’t get here fast enough!

Brad fell in love with fishing the spring creeks and small rivers of his childhood home in Western Wyoming, however, the opportunity to go with Grandpa to Alaska really set the hook. Brad now lives in Northern Utah where he chases trout as often as he can, and mixes in a few trips here and there to chase more exotic species.
